Rock, Paper, Shotgun Swamps Spocean Server

9:00AM this morning: Rock, Paper, Shotgun (a well-know PC gaming news site) posted this article of praise for our game. This, the first real Spocean press, is fantastic and unfortunately somewhat unexpected.

Caught offguard, the Spocean.net servers fought valiantly (and extremely unsuccessfully) , to upload the game to thousands of interested potential Spoceaneers at once, byte by byte. In the end, copies placed on mirror sites and hosted via torrent by these Spoceanauts-to-be helped to somewhat salvage the wreck. Following their lead we have — as a temporary fix — posted a link on the downloads page to a torrent file which can be used (in conjunction with torrent client software) as an alternate method for downloading the game.

As we mentioned in the previous post, the game is pretty rough around the edges. Our top priority is fixing bugs and polishing gameplay, but we will continue to host the three servers that we have currently setup.
